The Confederation of African Football ,CAF, has turned down Enugu Rangers’ request to have their CAF Champions League preliminary round second-leg tie against MC Alger played behind closed doors.
The encounter, scheduled for Friday evening at the Ali La Pointe Stadium in Douera, Algeria, will proceed with fans allowed into the stands following CAF’s decision.
Rangers had pushed for a closed-door fixture, but the rejection means MC Alger supporters will be present to cheer their team in the decisive encounter.
The highly anticipated clash will determine which side advances to the group stage of Africa’s premier club competition.
Ahead of the game, MC Alger’s management has appealed to supporters to maintain discipline, uphold sportsmanship and ensure a peaceful atmosphere throughout the match.
Rangers hold a commanding advantage going into the return leg after claiming a 2-0 victory in the first leg at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta last weekend.
