When Mark Walter bought the Lakers last year, he kept prior controlling owner Jeanie Buss on as team governor. But details of their arrangement were vague. A new legal filing from Buss’s siblings lays out the terms of the deal—which is now in jeopardy as her siblings try to force a sale.

That’s the amount of Swiss francs ($180,511) Sunderland captain Granit Xhaka said he was fined by Switzerland for using a forged COVID-19 vaccination certificate during the pandemic. He also says he was given two years’ probation. While Switzerland never legally required vaccinations, proof of vaccination was required to access certain venues and travel up until the first half of 2022. Xhaka admitted last month to obtaining the fake certificate and was subsequently dropped from the Swiss national team for its UEFA Nations League games during the international break. The 34-year-old, who captained the team to a quarterfinal appearance in this summer’s FIFA men’s World Cup, holds the Swiss record for most international appearances, with 152.

—Manchester City striker Erling Haaland in a video interview posted by the team previewing its upcoming clash with rival Liverpool. City sits atop the English Premier League standings with 15 points from 5 games, but a huge cloud looms over its future. A years-long EPL investigation found the team guilty of “serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules,” saying it inflated revenue to sign world-class players who would otherwise have been out of reach. Sanctions have not yet been announced but could include relegation. Haaland, who at 26 years old already ranks second on the team’s list of top goalscorers, signed a nine-year extension with the club last year.
