Police in Burnaby are releasing photographs of a road-rage suspect who allegedly threatened another driver with a knife.

On Sunday, April 19, Burnaby RCMP were called by a driver who reported being verbally threatened by another driver in the area of Boundary Road and Grandview Highway.

“The suspect also allegedly made gestures with a knife during the encounter,” said Cpl. Mike Kalanj in a news release Wednesday.

The threatened driver, who had two passengers, took a couple of photos before the suspect fled.

“At one point the suspect was close enough to attempt to open the passenger-side door of the victim’s vehicle from his own seat several times, before producing a knife and making threatening comments,” said Kalanj.

After investigating the allegations, police have released the photos in the hopes of identifying him.

“Our actions and words have consequences, and nobody should have to go through what the victims in this incident went through,” said Kalanj.
