Shedeur Sanders appears to have sent a message to the New Orleans Saints defence after delivering a cheeky response when asked about the unit ahead of the Cleveland Browns’ next game.
The 24-year-old could be in line for his first start of the 2026 campaign after Deshaun Watson entered the NFL’s concussion protocol.

Cleveland are coming off a disappointing 27-6 defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers, making the quarterback situation an important talking point ahead of their meeting with New Orleans.
Sanders was asked about the Saints’ defence during his media availability and chose not to give a straightforward assessment.
Instead, the Browns quarterback offered a cryptic response that suggested he was feeling confident about the matchup.
“Yeah, I’ve seen a lot. When I smile, just know that means something,” Sanders said.
He then added: “I’m maturing, you know what I’m saying? I’m maturing. Like, I could have gave that a decent answer, but now I’m just going to smile.”
