The hue, officially labelled T27-01, “captures the restorative essence and quiet energy of nature. This organic, dimensional shade moves effortlessly between olive and moss, anchored by subtle brown undertones that bring a sense of the outdoors in,” the residential paint company explained in its press release.

Behr’s senior director of colour and design strategy, Kayla Kratz, says that Grounded was inspired by an evolving idea of what comfort looks like at home.

“For years, comfort was often expressed through airy, open spaces and pale neutrals,” says Kratz.

But now that same desire for restoration takes on more warmth, depth and texture, with richer earth tones, natural materials and colours that feel more enveloping and connected to nature, she explains.

“That shift came to life for us in a quiet moment we kept returning to: when the sun begins to fall below the tree line, the light softens and the pace of the day seems to slow,” says Kratz. “We began calling it the ‘earth’s exhale.’”

Grounded anchors Behr’s broader 2027 Colour Trends Palette, which spans warm, sunlit neutrals to complementary deeper, forest-inspired tones. The collection is available at Home Depot Canada.
