Simmons marauded through the interior of the Seahawks’ defensive line, sacking Darnold as he celebrated while decked out in orange and navy blue. He made general manager Ryan Poles look good as the Bears’ defense dominated early.
Simmons and the Bears held the Seahawks to less than 60 yards past the midway point of the second quarter while quarterback Caleb Williams came out firing with a touchdown pass to Luther Burden III in the first quarter. The score remained 10-3 in favor of Chicago as the Seahawks attempted to claw their way back with the first half running out at Lumen Field in Seattle.
Williams’ impressive touchdown toss to Burden III capped off a 17-play, 80-yard drive that sapped over eight minutes off the game clock and put Seattle on their heels in one of the biggest games of the NFL season so far.

Simmons appeared to fit right in on defensive coordinator Dennis Allen’s unit as he helped to make life uncomfortable for coach Mike Macdonald’s Darnold-led offense on the Seahawks’ home turf.

A promising Seahawks drive near halftime started going in the wrong direction as the Bears continued to apply the pressure while leading by a touchdown on the road. The Simmons addition looked like a smart one as Monday Night Football continued with the Bears taking the fight to the defending Super Bowl champs.
