Watch: Sarah Paulson Praises Beanie Feldstein on Broadway
Beanie Feldstein is going from funny girl to funny mom.
The Booksmart star announced that she and wife Bonnie-Chance Roberts welcomed their first baby together while reflecting on the “mom juggle” of returning to work after maternity leave.
“She is genuinely beyond my wildest dreams,” Feldstein told People in an interview published Nov. 4. “I really did dream her. I always wanted to be a mom, and I always wanted a daughter. I look at her every day, and I’m like, ‘You’re just beyond anything I could have even tried to imagine.'”
“I love getting to watch her take in the world, it’s just the greatest gift,” she continued, “and getting to be a mom alongside my wife is the greatest gift. She’s such a good mom, and it’s so special to watch. Motherhood is unbelievably beautiful.”
The Funny Girl actress also shared a glimpse into their daughter’s most recent milestone: her first smile, which she witnessed weeks earlier.
Along with focusing on the early days of motherhood, she also reflected on what it was really like to build their baby girl.
“I could feel her soul from the moment she was born,” she recalled. “I remember people told me newborns are little blobs and they don’t really come alive until 6 weeks. I disagree with that completely. I could feel her soul from the moment I met her, but when you get to see that externalized in the smile, it’s so magic.”
The 33-year-old—who married the producer in 2023—announced that they were expecting their first baby together in May.

Alongside a snap of Roberts and How to Build a Girl star cradling her baby bump, they captioned the Instagram post, “Limited Edition Scouse Beanie Baby coming soon!!”
For Feldstein, being a mom was made even sweeter with Roberts by her side. Though she has loved married life, the milestone simply added a new title to their already fairytale romance.
“The only thing that changes is like, when you’re out in the world, people take you more seriously when you say ‘my wife,'” she beamed to TODAY.com in March 2024. “There’s just an authority and maturity to that. As a very young looking person, it feels good for me to be like, ‘This is my wife.’ It makes me feel powerful.”
