Dre Greenlaw helped the San Francisco 49ers win against his old team, the Denver Broncos. But it was his actions after the game against Sean Payton that fans took exception to.
The 49ers extended their record to 4-0 with a win over the Broncos, thanks in large part to the stellar defensive performance from Greenlaw.

Perhaps Greenlaw was motivated by trying to upstage the Broncos just months after they released him from their roster.
After the San Francisco 49ers beat the Denver Broncos, Dre Greenlaw tried to confront Broncos HC Sean Payton and celebrate in front of him.
His teammate, Fred Warner, immediately rushed to pull him away to make sure he didn’t make any mistake or cause an escalation.
Many fans questioned why Greenlaw would do this, even if he was frustrated with the way Payton and the Broncos treated him.
One Broncos fan noted, “Bro was hurt for eight games last year, suspended for one, and didn’t even learn our playbook. H*** of a game from him today, but how is it that personal?”

Another Broncos fan chimed in and echoed this sentiment, saying, “Broncos country was so fired up when he signed with us. We still supported him through injury, suspension, and learning curves. Not sure why he was mad at us when he barely could play.”
A third fan suggested that Greenlaw had no reason to act the way he did, writing, “He played less than half the season with them. Be an adult, sir!”
“He has a problem specifically with Sean Payton (like all his former players do), less about the rest of the Broncos organization,” wrote a fourth fan who defended Greenlaw’s actions.
A fifth fan suggested that the Broncos HC brought out a negative side in his former player, saying, “Five games, one suspension, and he still approached it like a blood feud. Payton simply accumulates enemies now.”

And lastly, one fan suggested that Greenlaw will find himself in trouble if he keeps acting this way: “Love Dre, but this is insanely childish. Stuff like this got him suspended last year.”
Despite the antics at the end, there is no denying just how great Greenlaw played against the Broncos, delivering a defensive masterclass.
Greenlaw had 12 total tackles, including seven solo tackles against the Broncos, breaking up several of their offensive schemes.
