Bayern Munich are currently chasing Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga table, but the club’s hierarchy remains relaxed about the situation.
Speaking at Oktoberfest, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen dismissed concerns about being behind their rivals.

“We’re completely relaxed about it, it’s wonderful. Everyone keeps writing that the league is boring, but I can’t see that at all. We’re Dortmund‘s pursuers and we’ll certainly chase them down,” Dreesen said.
President Herbert Hainer also pointed to Bayern’s impressive numbers so far this season.
“You have to put things in perspective. We’ve scored 14 goals in four games and only conceded two,” Hainer said. He acknowledged the 0-0 draw at Schalke but stressed that Bayern had still been the dominant side.
“What’s crucial is the way the team plays, how exciting the football matches are. I’d almost say: It’s fantastic to watch. It’s really great.”

Hainer added that Bayern ultimately want to be top of the table when the season ends. Honorary president Uli Hoeneß kept his assessment short: “When you win 7-0, everything’s fine!”
Hainer also addressed the Ballon d’Or race and dismissed suggestions that Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal should be ahead of Harry Kane.
“Harry Kane scored 60 goals in the Bundesliga, Pokal and Champions League, became German champion, won the DFB Pokal, reached the semifinals of the Champions League, played a very good World Cup. I don’t know what more you have to do to win the Ballon d’Or,” Hainer said.

“Lamine Yamal is certainly a very good player and has a great future ahead of him, but when you take everything into account last season, then there’s only one winner – and that has to be Harry Kane.”
Hainer also addressed Kane’s future at Bayern, with the England captain’s contract situation attracting attention.
“Today is a day to enjoy Oktoberfest. We’ll talk about contracts later,” he said.
However, Hainer expressed confidence that the striker is happy in Munich.
“He feels extremely comfortable in Munich, as does his family – he can win titles with us. He’s never won as many titles as he has since he joined Bayern. He knows how to assess that and we know how to assess it as well.”
