Nigerian comedian and actor, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has apologised to fans following the disruption of his comedy show in Cardiff, United Kingdom, over an alleged payment dispute with the event organisers.
The comedian, in a statement shared on social media, said he and other performers travelled to the venue but could not deliver their performances as planned due to unresolved payment commitments.
The event tagged “AY Live: Single and Not Searching” reportedly suffered prolonged delays, leaving several attendees disappointed, with many leaving the venue before the show could proceed.
AY expressed regret over the incident, acknowledging that fans who paid to attend deserved better organisation and communication.
In his words, “the audience should not have been caught in the middle of a disagreement between the performers and the organisers”.
The comedian also called for a resolution that would address the concerns of affected ticket holders, including refunds.
AY’s apology comes amid growing calls for accountability from the organisers and clarity on the refund process for those who could not enjoy the show.
