DARLINGTON, S.C. (CAROLINA SPORTS LIVE) — Darlington has a ton of nicknames, but if you’re looking for stock-car racing in its purest form, look no further than the ‘Lady in Black.’
An egg-shaped track with 1.3 miles of beat-up asphalt is bound to damage every team’s car. Add on the fact that we see some of the most aggressive driving of the year here, and there’ll be fireworks from start to finish.

Because this is a legacy track, the wall still sticks out at certain points, so expect a ton of bumps and paint-trading.
🏁 In the last four Southern 500s, a driver has swept every stage, but only two of them have won the race. One of whom is Chase Briscoe (2025).
🏁 The eventual winner of the Southern 500 didn’t lead for the first time until lap 158 in eight of the last 10 Darlington races.
🏁 We haven’t needed extra laps at Darlington Raceway since 2014.
🏁 Ford has won five of the last seven races this season, including last week.
Sunday’s Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway starts at 5 p.m.
