Watch: Miley Cyrus Shares How Her 13-Year-Old Self Envisioned Her Future
Miley Cyrus is getting her flowers.
But instead of writing her name in the sand, the star’s moniker has earned a permanent spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as she became the 2,845th star on Hollywood Boulevard during the May 22 ceremony.
For the occasion, Miley was honored by friend Anya Taylor-Joy, who detailed how she’s been inspired by the Hannah Montana alum ever since first seeing Miley in an ad for the series when Anya was 10 years old.
“Miley didn’t just grow up in front of the world; she outran every expectation it set for her,” Anya shared in her speech during the ceremony. “She challenged the rules, rewrote them and, every once in a while, set them on fire in a teddy bear costume.”
The 30-year-old added that Miley had “never asked for permission to evolve,” and instead had done so “beautifully, unapologetically and always, always authentically.”
“Miley, darling, you have always been, and are now quite literally, a star,” she raved. “Thank you for shining brightly for all of us.”
And Miley was clearly touched by the words, sharing a sweet embrace with Anya when the actress left the stage.

The “Climb” singer was also joined for the occasion by mom Tish Cyrus and her husband Dominic Purcell, as well as sister Brandi Cyrus, fiancé Maxx Morando and designer DonatellaVersace.
As for the star herself, Miley took a moment to reflect on the honor.
“What feels so special to me about this star is that it’s an accumulation of devotion,” Miley shared during her speech. “The star isn’t something that you win like a seasonal game. It’s not something that you can chase or collect. It’s not something you make the next record for and then tote it around like a trophy.”
“My name is laid in gold and pink terrazzo,” she exclaimed, “and it’s fierce and it’s fun and it’s fabulous.”
The 33-year-old earned her star after working for more than two decades in Hollywood, having landed her job on the Disney Channel at just 13 years old.
As Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinezsaid ahead of Miley’s ceremony, “Miley deserves her flowers as she has made a lasting impact on the entertainment industry, and we are thrilled to honor her with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”

“Generations of young girls have grown up watching her evolve,” she added, “finding inspiration in her journey and fearless creativity.”
The Walk of Fame ceremony also comes two months after Miley marked another major milestone: the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana, which was celebrated with an epic special on Disney+.
And if anyone ever needed any more proof that life is, famously, what you make it—take it from Miley. After all, she made her life rock exactly as her 13-year-old self hoped she would.
In fact, when E! News’ Erin Lim Rhodes asked how the Grammy winner would envision her future, Miley said, “I think exactly like this.”
“I mean, everyone here that I love, my family, all the fans, the loyalty,” Miley continued. “My life is so beautiful, so this is perfect.”
