Watch: RHOSLC’s Angie Katsanevas, Shawn Trujillo Break Up After 27 Years of Marriage
Angie Katsanevas and Shawn Trujillo are pulling the plug on their connection.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star and her husband of 27 years have called it quits, according to multiple outlets.
E! News has reached out to their reps for comment but has not yet heard back.
The pair, who also own a hair salon franchise together, tied the knot in June 1999 after crossing paths during an appointment. Simply put, Katsanevas was blown away.
“Seems like yesterday I booked an appointment for a blow dry with this dreamy guy I saw on the cover of a romance novel in the grocery store checkout,” she captioned a 2025 Instagram post celebrating their anniversary. “Long hair like Fabio, big muscles, and known to be lethal with scissors. The rest is HAIRstory.”
But their relationship goes beyond the physical, as Katsanevas—who shares daughter Elektra, 15, with Trujillo—also highlighted the inner qualities she’s admired the most about her husband.
“I am grateful to have married a strong man who shared the same values, love, and commitment for family as my Dad,” she wrote in a June 2023 Instagram post. “It’s hard to imagine my father raising seven children alone as Shawn has been by my side since Elektra’s first breath and every step of the way thereafter. His presence has shaped the amazing young lady she is and continues to become.”
However, their relationship has had its share of both ups and downs, including when Katsanevas and Trujillo addressed rumors about his sexuality and that he was unfaithful during the couple’s marriage.

“Thirty years ago, when Shawn and I first met, people would say, ‘Oh, that guy’s hot’ or ‘He has nice legs’ while he was doing hair,” she explained during the season four reunion. “‘Is he gay?’ ‘No, that’s his wife over there.’ Once it was established that we were a couple in Salt Lake City, it wasn’t brought up.”
And for Trujillo, he just wanted to set the record straight once and for all.
“For me it’s not a gay-straight thing, it’s an infidelity thing for me,” he shared while on the show. “We love our gay community, we’ve been embedded in it for 30 years now just based on what we do for our business.”
Prior to their split, Trujillo has also openly praised his wife of nearly three decades, noting their bond that seemed to only grow over time.
“Loving you is a privilege, knowing you is a blessing, being with you is a dream come true,” he wrote in a 2023 Instagram post celebrating her birthday. “A birthday isn’t complete without a toast, and here is mine to you. As a mother, you are the best of the best; as a [woman], you are the strongest; as a wife you are incredible. Cheers to many more.”
