COLLEGE PARK, GA ― Angel Reese hit another career milestone on Tuesday.
During a 91-75 win over the Connecticut Sun (2-9), Reese’s sixth point of the night, a corner 3-pointer, marked the 1,000th point of her WNBA career. The Atlanta Dream (6-2) star’s basket came with one minute remaining in the third quarter to pull Atlanta within one point, 65-64, ahead of the final period. Atlanta would go on to hold the Sun to 10 points in the fourth quarter and secure its sixth win of the season.

“It was a big three. Angel works on her 3-point shot every day. I see her putting in the work every day, and she shot with confidence. So, congrats to Angel on her thousandth point, and that was a big three that we needed. And I feel like that helped shift the momentum,” guard Allisha Gray said postgame.
Reese’s latest milestone comes just days after breaking a league record. She reached 900 rebounds in only 71 games, the fastest to the milestone in WNBA history. The All-Star forward had 18 points and 12 rebounds during an 86-66 win over the Portland Fire on May 29.During her first season in a Dream uniform, Reese has five double-doubles in eight games, including 12 points and 13 rebounds against the Sun. Reese also leads the league in offensive rebounds per game (5.4) and ranks second in rebounds per game (11.0).
