FC Andorra goalkeeper, Jesus Owono has said he is living through the most difficult days of his life after the death of Tenerife forward, Jesus de Miguel.
De Miguel, 30, died in hospital on Tuesday, a day after he collided with Owono in their Spanish second-division match.
Andorra released a statement on Owono’s behalf on Wednesday, saying the 25-year-old shot-stopper wanted to speak personally.
“These are the most difficult days of my life,” Owono said, adding: “I feel immense pain at the loss of Jesus.
“I’m thinking of him, his family, and all the people who loved him. I know there will be many issues to address, and I will face whatever comes with the utmost respect. Rest in peace, Jesus.”
