Watch: Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes’ Exes Andrew Shue, Marilee Fiebig Are Engaged
Love can be unexpected—and who could have foreseen this?
Just weeks after Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes tied the knot, it’s been revealed that their exes Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig are also set to make a trip down the aisle, with the Melrose Place alum confirming their engagement on Oct. 21.
“I don’t know how it happened,” he told People in October 2026, “but there’s a happy ending.”
A happy ending to a complicated story that began four years ago.
While Amy and T.J. were used to reporting the news on GMA3, they found themselves at the center of it after their romance was revealed in November 2022. At the time, both were still legally married—Amy to Andrew and T.J. to Marilee. However, the cohosts—whose time at GMA3 ended shortly after their relationship made headlines—insisted they weren’t having an affair and that they’d already separated from their respective partners.
“To be clear, we were outed as being in a relationship,” T.J. said on their Amy & T.J. podcast in December 2023, “but everyone else thought we were being outed as adulterous, being outed as cheating on our spouses and it wasn’t the case.”
Then in 2023, Marilee and Andrew started dating. And as both couples moved on, they each decided to take the next step. T.J. and Amy got engaged in 2025 and wed this past September. As for Andrew and Marilee, he revealed he popped the question in the spring.
“You don’t know how you meet the person who’s right for you,” the actor continued to People. “It just happened. And you can say how it’s just this kind of freak luck that this is how you ended up getting to know that person in a way that would allow you to reveal yourself and for her to reveal herself. And this just happened to be a circumstance that allowed for that.”

A wild one, for sure—although, not completely unheard of. Just ask Shania Twain.
She split from her husband and longtime collaborator Robert John “Mutt” Lange in 2008 following an apparent cheating scandal involving him and her close friend Marie-Anne Thiébaud.
“My husband was having an affair with Marie-Anne,” the country music star wrote in her 2011 memoir From This Moment On. “Marie-Anne my confidante, the same friend who’d comforted me over the phone only weeks before, expressing how absurd it was of me to have any such suspicions of my husband.”

After their respective breakups, Shania and Marie-Anne’s husband Frédéric Thiébaud leaned on each other, with their relationship turning romantic in 2009. Wanting to be together forever and for always, they wed on New Year’s Day in 2011.
It’s “twisted,” the singer told AARP The Magazine in 2020 about their love story, “but so beautifully twisted.”
For their part, Mutt and Marie-Anne denied the affair allegations, with her telling People at the time, “You cannot believe everything you read in the press.” But if you’re wondering where they ended up, Shania revealed on a 2024 episode of Armchair Expert that Mutt and Marie-Anne were still together.
Not that she’s giving them much thought these days. Because for Shania, Frédéric is still the one.
“I got the greatest man on the planet,” she continued, “that’s how I see it.”

Another curveball in the game of love involved pitchers Fritz Peterson and Mike Kekich and their wives.
After Fritz joined the New York Yankees in 1966 and Mike was traded to the team three years later, they quickly became friends. But by 1972, according to The Boston Globe, they’d teamed up with each other’s spouses—Fritz forming a relationship with Mike’s wife Susanne and Mike developing a romantic connection with Fritz’s wife Marilyn. Per the publication, Mike’s daughters moved with Susanne to Fritz’s house and Fritz’s sons relocated to Mike’s home with Marilyn.
“Unless people know the full details, it could turn out to be a nasty type thing,” Mike reportedly told the Daily News at the time. “Don’t say this was wife-swapping, because it wasn’t. We didn’t swap wives, we swapped lives.”
While Mike and Marilyn’s romance eventually struck out, Fritz and Susanne wed in 1974 and were together until his passing in 2023.
“It’s a love story,” Fritz told the Palm Beach Post in 2013. “It wasn’t anything dirty.”
These stars are far from the only ones to wade into scandalous waters. For more, keep reading.
