    Alexandra Grant Shares What She Loves About Keanu Reeves After 6 Years

    Alexandra Grant and Keanu Reeves are on an excellent adventure.

    The visual artist shared how the couple—who released the book Ode to Happiness as their first joint venture in 2011 before stepping out as a couple in 2019—balances their romantic relationship with their individual careers and their bond as co-collaborators.

    “He’s always so appreciative, so he’s always cautious with feedback, and I would say the same,” Grant, 53, told People in an interview published May 29 of her and Reeves’ processes as artists. “You want to always be respectful and leave the other person to bake their cake.”

    “We know that we could talk about any problem or challenge or creative idea and talk about it forever if that is needed,” Grant explained, adding they also find it important to “respect the individual need to dive deep and have a process that’s maybe quiet or in another collaboration.”

    And it’s not all work between the couple of six years, who originally met at a dinner party in 2009. Grant, also a wine maker, gushed, “Just talking about my love makes me sweat.”

    However, when Grant and Reeves do work together—such as co-founding X Artists’ Books in 2017—there’s one golden rule the creative duo prioritizes above all else.

    “I’d say the key to it is the mutual respect and also it’s play, right?” Grant mused. “We get to play creatively. The last thing I will say that I think we share is just the belief in projects.”

    As such, Grant loves supporting the 61-year-old—who previously dated late actress Jennifer Syme—throughout his legendary movie career. 

    “I’ve lived with John Wick, I’ve lived with Neo,” Grant admitted, elaborating that “when he’s in a character, for example, I have so much respect for that understanding that this is the middle to the end of a project, right? And I think the same goes for painting,” because despite not being a performer, Grant said, “when I’m in painter mode, I am in it.”
