IVINS, UT – Alejandro Tosti is back in action this week at the Bank of Utah Championship, and he has a new caddie by his side.
Tosti, a 30-year-old native of Argentina, hired Camilo Pinilla to caddie for him at Black Desert Resort. Just two weeks ago at the Biltmore Championship Asheville, Tosti’s caddie Cliff Ellis removed his bib and abandoned the bag on the 18th hole, Tosti’s ninth hole of the day, after a contentious week together.

According to an interview Ellis conducted with Ryan French and posted on The Monday Q web site, Tosti repeatedly called him a “dumbass.”
Tosti picked a spectator, Patrick Talledo, out of the crowd, to complete his second nine of his opening round and used him for the second round as well before missing the 36-hole cut.
Ellis started working for Tosti in May at the CJ Cup, but it’s not unusual for Tosti to switch his caddie. At the 3M Open, he had Sean Leutner on the bag.
As one caddie put it, “caddie consistency right now of rank and file about as rare as leftover bacon.”
Peter Malnati has Steve Catlin on the bag this week after David Cooke, who had been on the bag most of the summer and through the Tour stop in Asheville, North Carolina, jumped ship to work for Sudarshan Yellamaraju. Catlin had been on the bag of Robert Streb, who isn’t in the field this week.

Brice Garnett has veteran caddie James Edmonson on the bag this week in what should be a short-term fill-in after his regular bagman Justin Thompson got married last week.
