Wednesday night marked the latest installment of Blood and Guts on AEW Dynamite, an event that has become an annual staple for the company. This year’s edition took place in Jacksonville, Florida, with Full Gear also approaching and storylines continuing to build toward the pay-per-view.
Blood and Guts matches were the only bouts on the card, and appropriately so. There were backstage segments and a few developments on the stage in between, but the focus remained on the action inside the two rings surrounded by a gigantic steel cage.

So what happened at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena? Let’s take a look:
-
Backstage, Don Callis says there’s risk for his team at Blood and Guts, but much more for their opponents. He promises they’ll win the match and inflict damage heading into Full Gear. Kyle Fletcher declares himself the next AEW World Champion and says Callis has built the family in his own image, fostering healthy competition. Fletcher vows to lead the family to victory and capture the title at Full Gear. Callis says the opposing team talks about passion and honor, but his family lives by titles, money and family. Kazuchika Okada echoes the final sentiment to close the segment.
-
Backstage, Mick Foley interviews the babyface team. Will Ospreay says they need to worry about what happens both inside and outside the cage. The Young Bucks say they know what Davis and Doyle are capable of and how crazy they can be. Darby Allin says no amount of training can prepare someone for Blood and Guts, while Steven Borden vows to take out the Don Callis Family. Ospreay warns Fletcher against looking too far ahead. Adam Copeland says he’s wearing the same gear he wore for his match against Foley. He understands the toll these matches can take and admits he’s apprehensive about what lies ahead for the team.

Backstage, Austin Creed asks Swerve Strickland why he attacked Bandido. Strickland says Bandido has pinned all three of them, so he had to do something. Creed reminds Strickland that they’re supposed to be a team and should have discussed it first, but Strickland insists he had to do whatever was necessary.
Cameras then cut to Kofi, who is trapped in a doorway by Bandido. Bandido begins brawling with Strickland backstage before the fight spills into the arena. Bandido removes part of the stage to use as a weapon against Strickland, but Creed makes the save and begins fighting Bandido. Prince Nana then prevents Creed from being press-slammed through a table.
Adam Page and Brody King rush into the arena to break up the brawl. Bandido says Strickland took his mask and his honor, and now he’ll take his life. Page warns that they can’t give Strickland what he wants, but Bandido insists on a Texas Death Match. Page eventually agrees as Strickland and The New Level look on.

A video recaps The Cut’s attack on The Death Riders on Collision.
-
Backstage, Kyle O’Reilly starts calling out The Cut until Jon Moxley interrupts. Moxley says he’s shared plenty with The Conglomeration and in a certain sense he knows them better than anyone needs and needs people he can trust to stand in the fire. He says The Cut is motivated and serious. Moxley says he doesn’t need anything from anyone, but he’s asking for help from The Conglomeration. He says Jay White owes a debt, and he’s offering The Conglomeration the pleasure of the one to collect it and slides a fork toward them.
-
In the arena, Renee Paquette welcomes Mercedes Moné, who tells Paquette to leave the ring and demands that Marina Shafir come out. Shafir obliges, and Moné says no one was paying attention to her until she became Jon Moxley’s little “b*tch.”
Shafir challenges Moné to step inside the cage and fight her right now. She says she respects everything Moné has accomplished but doesn’t respect what she’s become. Shafir says that somewhere along the way, Moné forgot what it meant to be afraid. She recalls Moné slapping her three times and says she saw something in her eyes. Moné wasn’t trying to hurt Shafir, but rather convince herself that she could. Shafir then mocks the way Moné slapped her.
Moné slaps Shafir again, and when Shafir attempts to counter with a kick, Moné strikes her with the AEW Women’s World Championship and locks in the Statementmaker until referees break it up.
