The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in Ogun State, Oladipupo Adebutu, has promised to create a Border Communities Development Commission to address years of neglect in Ogun West if elected governor in 2027.
Adebutu made the promise in Ipokia during the flag-off of his campaign in Ogun West Senatorial District.
He said communities along the border corridor have suffered abandonment, lacking basic amenities such as motorable roads, clean water and functional health facilities, despite their economic importance.
“I am standing here in Ipokia to promise you a Border Communities Development Commission. Enough of this abandonment. Our traders and rural dwellers have been left behind for too long,” he said.
