The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Police Command, CP Wilfred Afolabi, has frowned at the practice of arresting people for offences committed by other persons in the state.
Afolabi, who addressed the command’s management team and Area Commanders during a strategic meeting, also warned that extorting the public in the course of an officer’s duties would not be tolerated.
He stated that the strategic meeting was organised to strengthen supervision, discipline, professionalism and accountability across the command.
Afolabi announced that the X squad of the Abia State police command would be out to monitor and ensure professionalism among officers.
