    Watch: Aaron Rodgers Details Future Family Plans With Wife Brittani After Retirement

    Aaron Rodgersnearly fumbled his happily ever after with wife Brittani.  

    A little over two years after the Pittsburgh Steelers player announced he had privately tied the knot, he revealed that his love story with his mystery woman began nearly 10 years ago. 

    “I met my wife in 2017,” Rodgers revealedduring a Sept. 10 appearance on the Not Just Football podcast. “At the time, she was leaving the states and going back to Europe and my biggest regret is not begging her to stay or just, like, proposing right there.”

    Indeed, while Rodgers went on to date Danica Patrick between 2018 and 2020, and got engaged to Shailene Woodley in 2021 before they called it off a year later, he acknowledged his faults in the relationship could be because his heart was in a different place. 

    “That sent me into a tailspin,” the NFL star admitted. “I was emotionally unavailable for those seven or eight years because I’d met the person that was going to change my life. After that, I just poured everything into football.”

    Speaking to the near-decade he spent searching for love in all the wrong places, he noted, “I think I got a lot out of that for sure but I knew I was meant to be with this one person and I couldn’t.”

    It wasn’t just that Rodgers had committed relationships with other women, either. 

    “We were separated by an ocean for a lot of it,” he said. “Then, she was engaged.”

    Finally, the pair eloped in 2025 months after Rodgers revealed the romance. As he put it, “Luckily for me we came back together.”

    But while Rodgers—who also datedOlivia Munn in the mid-2010s—copped up to his emotional unavailability with his past partners before Brittani, he also wasn’t letting his exes completely off the hook.

    “There’s Danica with her story of like a trail of blood and blindsided by me leaving her when it’s like, alright there’s zero intimacy,” Rodgers said, nodding to Patrick’s comments onThe Sage Steele Showin May. “I didn’t want to buy a house with you. Didn’t want to have any attachments and there was really nothing there.”

    Meanwhile, Rodgers claimed Woodley had said he “ruined her life and gave her a crazy depression” with their breakup, (Woodley toldOutside magazine in 2024 that a romance that aligned to the timing of her relationship with Rodgers sent her into a depression), he contested that their romance was not as serious as it seemed in the public eye. 

    E! News has reached out to reps for Patrick and Woodley but has not yet heard back. 

    As for rumors surrounding his current marriage? Rodgers has learned to tune out the noise. 

    When asked how he feels about the longstanding narrative that his wife isn’t real, he maintained, “I don’t f–king care about any of that.”

Hawk about the gifts he’d selected for his girlfriend Brittani. And while he didn’t provide his new teammate’s last name, he did clarify, “Not Britney Spears. No, this is Brittani with an ‘i.'”   As for any other crucial stats, “She doesn’t have social media,” Aaron detailed. But she does root for McAfee when they tune into his ESPN series, Aaron telling the former NFL punter, “She’s a fan of you.” Most importantly, he could see their romance going the distance, sharing, “It’s a good feeling, boys.” Aaron’s no-longer-a-free-agent status complicated his hunt for a new team once the Super Bowl champ was cut from the New York Jets in February 2025. “I’m in a different phase of my life,” he explained on The Pat McAfee Show thatApril. “I’m in a serious relationship. I have off-the-field stuff going on that requires my attention. I have personal commitments I made not knowing what my future was going to look like after last year, that are important to me.”

    When Did Aaron Rodgers Confirm His Marriage?By June 2025, Aaron was sporting a new jersey and a new accessory on the fourth finger of his left hand. “Yes, it’s a wedding ring,” he clarified in a press conference following his first practice with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Their vows had taken place in the off-season, he added, sharing, “It’s been a couple months.”

    Has Aaron Rodgers’ Wife Ever Been Seen Publicly? Brittani doesn’t seem interested in playing cheer captain or claiming a spot on the bleachers. Though it’s possible she’s slipped into her husband’s games unnoticed, she definitely wasn’t huddling up with any of the other athletes’ spouses during this two-season stint with the Jets. “I didn’t know of any partner,” Jessie Vera-Tucker, wed to NFL guard Alijah Vera-Tucker, told People in August 2025. “It literally came out of nowhere.” It was quite the successful trick play, agreed Maranda Williams, whose husband, defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, spent six seasons with the Jets. “I didn’t know he had a partner either, oh my gosh,” she added. “I never saw anyone. Never met anyone.” And it is unlikely fans will score an introduction either as Aaron plans to retreat to the sidelines once he retires from the NFL in 2027. “When this is all done, I’m out,” he revealed to McAfee in June 2025. “You won’t see me.”

    What Aaron Rodgers Has Shared About His Sex LifeLet’s talk about sex, baby. Because while Aaron keeps much of his playbook locked tight, he has shared what keeps him driving down the field in his workouts. Sure, it’s crucial to focus on strength training, nutrition and his overall wellness to keep performing on the field. “Just to stay in shape,” he explained during a March 2026 appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, “you have to always be dialed in on diet, sleep and workouts.” But, also, “I want to look good,” the athlete added. “I want my wife to want to f–k me all the time.”
