Philadelphia 76ers star LeBron James traveled to Angola to support his electric powerboat racing team while also spending time with local basketball players just weeks before the start of training camp.

With the 2026-27 NBA season approaching, James was spotted in Angola over the weekend. ClutchPoints shared details of the 41-year-old forward’s visit via X, formerly known as Twitter, citing social media accounts @Mathew_M.a15 and @angolaplayers.

James became a team owner in the E1 electric powerboat racing series in January 2025 with Team AlUla. His visit to Angola allowed him to support the organization while also maintaining his connection to basketball through his appearance at the local clinic.

The trip comes during one of James’ final stretches of the offseason before beginning his first training camp with Philadelphia.
James’ arrival in Philadelphia represented one of the NBA’s biggest offseason moves after he elected to leave the Los Angeles Lakers and join the 76ers.
Philadelphia has undergone a significant roster transformation around its new star. The organization also acquired former Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown, giving the Sixers another accomplished two-way player as they prepare to enter the season with championship expectations.

James will soon turn his attention fully toward his first campaign in Philadelphia. The 76ers are scheduled to begin training camp Sept. 29, giving James approximately two weeks before officially beginning preparations with his new teammates.
