Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has pledged to reopen all borders across the northern part of Nigeria to pave the way for legitimate businesses.
DAILY POST reports that the former vice president made the pledge on Friday while addressing supporters in a video circulating online.
Atiku said the border closure had left many young traders in the region jobless and bankrupt, promising to revive their businesses if elected president in 2027.
According to him, the unemployment caused by the border closure has led to a sharp increase in the security crisis.
