Head coach Éric Chelle has invited 31 players to Nigeria’s U-23 Eagles camp ahead of their 2027 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifying encounter against the Democratic Republic of Congo, DAILY POST reports.
Chelle named four goalkeepers, nine defenders, eight midfielders and 10 forwards in the squad as the team begins preparations for the two-legged tie.
All invited players are expected to report to the AM2PM Hotel in Ijebu-Ode on Sunday, while the foreign-based professionals are expected to join the camp at a later date.
DR Congo will host the first leg at the TP Mazembe Stadium in Lubumbashi on Friday, November 13, 2026.
The return leg is scheduled to take place four days later at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne.
The winner on aggregate over the two legs will advance to the final round of the qualifiers.
Egypt will host the 2027 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations, which will also serve as a qualifying tournament to determine Africa’s representatives in the men’s football event at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
