The Social Democratic Party, SDP, is set to conduct fresh primary elections in Nasarawa and Gombe states.
A notice by the party said the fresh primary elections will hold on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
DAILY POST reports that the primaries are to replace the governorship candidates in both states, with former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu set to clinch the SDP governorship ticket in Nasarawa.
“We wish to notify and invite the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to monitor the primary elections to substitute candidates for the governorship, in view of the elected candidates who have withdrawn from the race.
