The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Jigawa State has cautioned its social media supporters against engaging in insults, personal attacks and disrespectful comments while promoting the party and its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The gubernatorial candidate of the party, Mustapha Sule Lamido gave the advice during a meeting with the party’s social media users and political commentators.
Lamido urged them to focus on issues, policies and political programmes rather than attacking individuals or opponents.
“We should focus on issue-based campaign not personal attacks; let us promote peace and avoid anything that could violate electoral guidelines,” he said.
He said the meeting was aimed at sensitising the youths on the importance of responsible political communication and promoting the party through constructive engagement.
Lamido stressed that political campaigns should be driven by ideas and policies capable of winning public confidence, rather than abusive language and personal attacks.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to conducting peaceful and orderly campaign tours across the state without violence or unnecessary provocation.
