Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, on Thursday displayed his physical energy, challenging his supporters to vote for any other candidate who could match his strength ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.
In a video making the rounds, Makinde, who argued that the demands of the Presidency require significant energy, was seen jumping down from a stage to demonstrate his physical fitness.
The governor said he would not make age an issue in the 2027 presidential campaign but would rather focus on the energy of the contenders.
He stressed that the challenges facing Nigeria require a leader with the strength and capacity to address them.
He said, “I will not make age an issue in this campaign, but I will make it about energy – having energy, being able to stay up late, and having the rigour to deal with the challenges in the country.
“So, when they bring their own presidential candidate, let him come here and also jump down. If they can do that, vote for them.”
