MLB Playoffs are a completely different feel than the 162-game regular season, and this is where the drama starts. 12 teams have the chance to compete for World Series glory in 2026, but the reality is 11 franchises are chasing down the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers are attempting to accomplish a historic feat this season by becoming the latest organization to complete a championship three-peat. The last team to do so was the New York Yankees from 1998 to 2000.

However, the 2026 season’s featured several other top contenders that appear capable of challenging Los Angeles. The Milwaukee Brewers won 100 games for the first time in franchise history (103).
Meanwhile, the AL East is sending three teams to the postseason, including the Boston Red Sox, Tampa Bay Rays and Yankees. The Rays might be the most dangerous of the bunch, though, after winning 98 games and securing the top seed.
