2026 Ballon d’Or: I made history – Mbappe speaks on winning award

Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappe, has said this could be a good year for him to win the Ballon d’Or award.

Mbappe is regarded as one of the frontrunners to win the prize.

Speaking ahead of their Champions League clash with Inter Milan on Tuesday, the Frenchman pointed to his exploits at the World Cup.

Mbappe became the all-time top scorer at the tournament at this year’s edition.

He said: “I made history this summer in the most prestigious competition, but there’s still a long way to go”.

“This might be a good year for the Ballon d’Or.

“But the journalists vote, and they will decide. I only focus on doing my best.”

Mbappe also finished as the top scorer in LaLiga last season, scoring a total of 42 goals in 44 games for the LaLiga giants.
