A 15-year-old boy, Ahmed Sulaiman, has died following a violent altercation among teenagers over food in Gwangwan Village, Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State.
The incident was contained in a post shared on X by security analyst, Zagazola Makama on Wednesday.
According to the report, the incident happened on June 1 at about 9:00 p.m. after a disagreement broke out among a group of teenagers in the community.
Police sources said the argument involved Ahmed Sulaiman, 15, and three other teenagers identified as Abdulaziz Garzali, 13, Amiru Sani, 15, and Habu Mani, 14.
The disagreement reportedly started over food before it turned violent.
“During the fight, Abdulaziz allegedly got a knife from Habu and used it to stab Ahmed, causing serious injuries.
“The victim was rushed to Rogo General Hospital for treatment but was confirmed dead while receiving medical attention,” Makama said.
The village head of Gwangwan, Alhaji Muhammad Tukur, was said to have reported the incident to security authorities.
Police sources said the suspects have been identified and are assisting with investigations to determine what led to the incident.
The Kano State Police Command said a full investigation is ongoing and assured that appropriate legal action would be taken after the probe.
