Two men are dead after a late-night shooting at a parkade in Surrey.

Surrey police said officers were called to a shooting in an underground parking lot at an apartment complex in the 7000-block 133B Street in Surrey’s Newton neighbourhood just after 10 p.m. on Sunday night.

They found two men with gunshot wounds.

Despite efforts by police and paramedics, the men died at the scene.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over to investigation. No one has been arrested. Surrey police did not provide a suspect description or motive in the double shooting.

This is the second shooting in Newton on Sunday.

Shortly before 4 a.m., two men were injured at a gas station shooting in the 7100-block 152nd Street. The men were taken to hospital in critical condition. Police said the motive was unknown, but extortion is not believed to be a factor.
