    Watch: Jenna Bush Hager Reveals Her Kids Call Her “Biggie” as New Nickname

    Jenna Bush Hager might be wondering what’s in a name? 

    As the Today host revealed, her and husband HenryHager’s kids Mila, 13, Poppy, 10, and Hal, 6, have taken to calling their parents a new nickname, which Jenna is less than fond of.

    “My children have brought home a term which I wish they would have left at the old door,” Jenna told cohostSheinelle Jones May 13. “They call me ‘Biggie.’ They’re like, ‘OK, Biggie!’ And I’m like, ‘Excuse me?’ They’re like, ‘Whatever, Biggie!’”

    And while they also call her husband Henry ‘Biggie,” the 44-year-old is worried the nickname might start extending beyond their home, adding, “I’m like, ‘Mila, stop saying this. Hal’s gonna go to school and his teacher’s gonna be like, ‘Now, Hal, please turn in your homework.’ And he’s gonna be like, ‘No way, Biggie!’’

    Sheinelle was bewildered by the nickname, telling Jenna, “I’ve never heard that. That hurts my feelings.”

    But the nickname actually got worse as the Superpower Sisterhood author shared the origins of ‘Biggie’: “You know what it stems from? The root word is ‘Big Back.’”

    “The root word is ‘Big Back,’” Jenna explained, “and she has simplified it just to ‘Biggie.’”

    Sheinelle exclaimed, “That’s even worse.”

    Still, Jenna did admit that she was amused by the nickname when her kids first brought it around. 

    “I like humor in words,” she said. “So I was like, ‘Oh, she’s creative.’ But I’m like, ‘Hey, stop calling everybody Biggie. It’s gonna spread.’”

    And while her kids might be finding ways to bug their mom now, Jenna has never shied away from getting candid about how motherhood and her kids have changed her life for the better.

    “I realized that sometimes I find the most comfort in the beauty and innocence of my children,” she shared on Today in October. “All I have to do is read their assignments, cuddle with them at night, pay attention to the creative and loving things they say—and then I feel like our world is filled with such profound and sparkly hope.”
