James McAvoy & Wife Lisa Liberati Privately Welcomed Baby Boy

James McAvoy has welcomed a new gifted youngster to his home. 

The X-Men: Days of Future Past actor shared that he and wife Lisa Liberati privately welcomed a son together four years ago. And in some ways, having a child when he was 42 was easier for him than when he and ex-wife Anne-Marie Duff had their now 15-year-old son Brendon in 2010. 

“I worry less,” James shared with The Guardian in an interview published March 31. “I’m a bit more philosophical.”

“But it’s also harder,” he continued, “because you’re just older and tireder.”

The 46-year-old added that while he and Lisa are mostly based in London, they also do spend “a wee bit” in Philadelphia as that’s where Lisa’s family lives.

James and Lisa first met in 2016—the same year James split from Anne-Marie—on the set of Split where Lisa was working as director M. Night Shyamalan‘s personal assistant.

The Atonement actor confirmed their marriage in 2022, telling The Guardian at the time he felt like Philadelphia was “a second home for me.”
