Gujarat Titans have been able to establish themselves as one of the best teams with regards to making playoffs since they made their IPL debut in 2022.

In their first year in IPL, GT won the tournament and then went on to make it to the finals in the following year while consistently competing for a spot among the top two finishers.
In IPL 2026, GT kept themselves in contention for the playoffs throughout. Headed by Shubman Gill, GT held their strength in their top order and disciplined bowling attack.
With a spot in the playoffs already confirmed, GT’s 89-run victory over Chennai Super Kings enabled them to finish the league stage second to Royal Challengers Bengaluru due to a poorer net run rate, but now depend on the Qualifier 2 match to make the final.

Gujarat Titans had an unprecedented debut season under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya during the 2022 IPL season.
Having finished top of the league table, the Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals twice, once in Qualifier 1 and then in the final match – both by 7 wickets – to lift the title.
GT replicated their dream debut season with yet another strong performance in the 2023 IPL season.
Gujarat again led from the front under the leadership of Hardik Pandya before losing by 15 runs in Qualifier 1 to CSK. GT then recovered well in Qualifier 2 with an emphatic 62-run victory against Mumbai Indians, where Shubman Gill scored his first-ever IPL century.

But, GT lost in the rain-affected final in Ahmedabad to CSK by 5 wickets.

GT missed out on the IPL 2024 playoffs, but made a return in 2025. While 2024 remains the only time they failed to make it to the playoffs, GT was back in form under captain Shubman Gill. Unfortunately, their run came to an end in the Eliminator after losing by 20 runs to MI.
GT had yet another good season under Shubman Gill’s captaincy, and the team managed a top-two spot to participate in Qualifier 1 in the tournament.
However, they suffered a 92-run loss to RCB and will now take the Qualifier 2 route to possibly progress to their third-ever IPL final.
