Chelsea are on the verge of selling their striker Nicolas Jackson to Aston Villa. According to Santi Aouna of Footmercato, Aston Villa have submitted an offer of around €70m, including bonuses, for Jackson. The report added that the Blues are close to accepting the proposal, which could prove to be one of their biggest of the summer. This is coming after a long period of negotiation between the two Premier League clubs. Jackson spent last season on loan at Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich. He is expected to leave Xabi Alonso’s side before the summer transfer window closes next week.

The Lagos State High Court has granted singer Rollex Dee bail after spending about two months in police detention. The singer was granted N100 million bail on Friday, August 21, 2026. According to an update by MC Bokujaka, who has been leading the ‘Free Rollex Dee’ campaign online, the court requires two sureties of N50 million each. The 2027 presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Atiku Abubakar, has clarified his position on fuel subsidy following a statement by one of his media aides, Paul Ibe.
